It takes at least two years to earn a degree from a junior college or higher. If you will be entering your fifth year in 2028 or later, please consult with OBP Academy.

Program Overview
制度説明
The maximum period of stay for “Type 1” is 5 years.
特定技能１号の在留期間は、5年上限となっています。
After five years, unless you qualify for a special exception (a one-year extension is possible if you have earned at least 80% of the points required for Specific Skilled Worker Type 2), your status cannot be renewed, so
５年後は、特例処置(２号資格取得得点の８割まで到達している場合は１年延長可能)に該当しない限り更新、延長はないので、
① Transition to Type 2: However, if the nursing care field, you must obtain the national certification as a Certified Care Worker and change your status of residence to “Nursing Care.”
特定技能2号への移行 : 但し、介護分野は、介護福祉士の国家資格を取得し、在留資格「介護」へ変更する必要
② Change to another status of residence: Change from “Type 1” to another status of residence. The most likely option is “ “Gijinkokoku”, but this requires a bachelor’s degree.
他の在留資格への変更 : 特定技能1号から他の在留資格への変更をします。もっとも可能性が高いのは、技技人国ですが、このためには大卒学歴が必要です。
③ Return to your home country : If not ①or②, after completing the 5-year period, have to return to your home country.
帰国 : 5年満了後、他の在留資格への変更ができない場合は、一度帰国することになります。
You will need to choose one of these options.

Once you return to your home country, it is difficult to re-enter Japan under the same Specific Skilled Worker status, 一度帰国すると、なかなか同じ特定技能での再入国は難しいので、在留資格への変更が現実的です。
Please note that there was a major revision to the “Gijinkokoku” on April 15, and Japanese language proficiency is now required.
The established standards for Japanese language proficiency are: JLPT Level N2 or higher, BJT Business Japanese Proficiency Test score of 400 or higher, or J.TEST, NAT-TEST, etc., at a level equivalent to CEFR B2 or higher.
・Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT)：A test that assesses Japanese language skills commonly encountered in daily life
・BJT Business Japanese Proficiency Test : A test specialized in business Japanese
・ J.TEST：A test to assess your Japanese language proficiency
・NAT-TEST：Focuses on assessingpractical Japanese language proficiency
なお、技人国ビザについては、4月15日に大きな改正があり、日本語能力がもとめられます。
基準として設定された日本語能力の目安は日本語能力試験（JLPT）の「N2」以上、BJTビジネス日本語能力テストの「400点」以上、J.TESTやNAT-TEST等でCEFR B2相当以上

BJTビジネス日本語能力テスト : ビジネスの日本語に特化した試験
J.TEST : 自分の日本語のレベルをチェックするためのテスト

For industries or job types that require the use of languages other than Japanese, applicants are required to submit documentation proving language proficiency equivalent to CEFR B2 or higher in the primary language used for that position.
日本語以外の言語を使用することを前提とした業種や職種の場合、その職務で使用する主要言語においてCEFR B2相当以上の語学力を証明する書類の提出が求められます。
